This is the legendary first post of the official Our Wonderfully Random Voyage blog. The purpose of this blog is mainly to discuss and share our obsession with following Odysseus as he overcomes many obstacles during his adventure home to Ithaca. We hope that you will appreciate the high level of stalking that we have accomplished in order to post these events in such detail. For those of you who don’t know, Odysseus is an Ithacan hero who is unfortunately already taken, by his wife Penelope, and together, they have a son named Telemachus. When we first found Odysseus and began to write about his whereabouts, he was being held captive on the island Ogygia by Calyspso, who had fallen in love with him. WOAH! WE HAVE JUST RECEIVED A LETTER FROM A SECRET SOURCE!!! Apparently Athena has been trying to reason with her father Zeus, and make him let Odysseus off the island to return home. When this doesn’t work, she disguises herself as Mentes, and persuades Telemachus to have faith that his father will return and he must gather his strength and order the suitors off his land. Until we receive more information, this is Mobergeus and Ricena, signing off.
